Defined by movement and dynamism, rivers can flow on the surface, underground in caverns, or even in the atmosphere. Pouring through the world, they sometimes become lost, decreasing in volume as they flow downstream. They give their water to the local aquifers, becoming part of them, eventually emerging once again in springs or the sea. What is lost is ultimately transformed.
